We want to get to know
you and learn about your chief concerns, as well as any apprehensions you
may have regarding your treatment. We take a thorough dental and medical
history, and follow it by a comprehensive orthodontic examination. We then
explain your general problem in clear language that you can understand, and
also tell you the probable cost. We will answer all of your questions.
| The next step, which
is usually accomplished at a separate visit, is taking orthodontic
records. This includes study models of the teeth and photographs of the
teeth and face, as well as x-rays of the teeth and jaws. Once we have
all of this data assembled, we make a comprehensive diagnosis that
covers all aspects of your problem. From this diagnosis, we determine
the personal treatment plan necessary to make the correction. We usually
communicate this information to you at a subsequent visit, or by phone.
At that time, we work with you to set up a convenient payment schedule.
Occasionally, when the diagnosis and treatment
plan are apparent to us, and the patient and/or parent is anxious to
begin, we combine the record taking and the start of treatment, thereby
reducing the number of initial visits. |
